Functions & Objectives

to conduct teaching workshops
on breastfeeding and lactation management for health care staff;

organization of child healthy
nutrition and growth monitoring;

organization of correct nutrition
of pregnant and nursing mothers and their provision with proper information;

to support and maintain Baby
Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) implementation;

implementation of "European
Monitoring Project" elaborated by the international organizations IBFAN
and WEMOS, at the national level;

establishment of the Internationa
Code of Marketing of Brestmilk Substitutes provided by UNICEF/WHO, according
to the Decree (On Creation of Infant Feeding Controlled System) of the
president of Georgia in the country;

to provide the population of
Georgia with proper information on the issues by mas.media;

as the Georgian group of IBFAN,"CLARITAS"
shares the principles of IBFAN and denies the sponsorship or any other
assistance from producers of brestmilk substitutes;

consultations on lactation problems and mother-child health care issues;
