A Short History

GENESIS
was founded on November 29th, 1995 as a non-governmental
and not-for-profit organisation to promote the well being of the
most impoverished sections of the population, especially orphans and street children.
The sudden transformation of Georgia’s healthcare system to a an entirely commercial basis, combined with the economic crisis in the country and the poverty of the population, provided the background for the establishment of the GENESIS Association. Our strategy is to contribute to the reorientation of the healthcare and social systems from its current dependance on humanitarian aid to sustainability and self-financing.
