The beer of local manufacture from ancient times
was one of most popular drinks of the inhabitants of high-mountainous areas
of East Georgia. This drink had the special sacral mission. It was prepared
in large quantities during religious holidays and at celebratory performances
and traditional rituals. Georgian mountaineers of Khevsureti, Phshavi,
Tusheti, Mtiuleti and Khevi from ancient times were famous as beer manufacturers.
In the book the ancient traditions of bear preparation,
tribal traditions, community rules, methods of managing, main features
of mouthe legislation are described; the ethnographic features of various
communities which now unfortunately are on the verge of disappearance are
considered.

The book is intended for youth and can be interesting
for a wide range of the readers. The authors were set by the purpose to
acquaint youth with the pioneers of alpine sports of Georgia and were trying
to impart the love to their native land nature.

process of development of alpine sports in Georgia is described. The set
of interesting events from life of the known sportsmen is described.
The sphere of questions mentioned by the authors
leaves far for frameworks of alpine sports and covers subjects of mountain
tourism, mountain climbing, recreational problems, which has the great
importance for mountain areas of Georgia.
