   The mission of the NGO Orchis is to study and evaluate recent abundance of rare and endangered species of Georgian vegetation and contribute to their sustainable management and preservation.  

    Main tasks of the members of NGO Orchis is description of population density and recruitment characters of rare and endangered plant species on the territory of Georgia and dissemination of knowledge to the public about endangered plants and their ecosystems.  

    Main attention is paid to plant families: Orchidaceae, Iridaceae and Gentianaceae.  

    The membership of the NGO Orchis is free for all citizens of Georgia as well as for foreigners who's interests will be conservation of any endangered plant species by means of maintenance of their natural habitats.  

    The emblem of the NGO Orchis is flower of oldest fossil orchid Eoorchis miocaenica Mehl.
